Pain!

So this surgery thing is kinda painful... No one told me that....
J/K, well I didn't know it was going to be this painful. The first night after the anesthetic wore off, I couldn't sleep the whole night. I got up to go to the bathroom and had to hold on to the counter so I wouldn't fall on the floor cause I was about to pass out from the pain. So here I am five days later and I'm able to walk around a bit. With the changing of the seasons there has been more pollen in the air and I have been sneezing. Normally no big deal but when you have a three inch cut in you, it is a different story. For those of you who are really curious and want to see the cut click here. Of course now you are all curious. I warn you, it is not pretty...

Under the Knife

So I went under the knife this morning... Those of you who didn't know, I had surgery this morning to fix a hernia. Now I'm on pain killers and feeling pretty loopy... Sooooooooo Good! Just to let everyone know, it went well and I'm feeling great. (maybe that's just the medication....) Anyway, if anyone is bored and wants to watch movies, my house is the station for movie plantation. Or if you want to come by and watch the Sharks kill the Predators they are playing Friday at 5:00, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon so come on over. I'll be giving free samples of the narcotics I'm taking.... They make me feel magical inside!

Until then, keep on truckin...

Good Friday

So apparently I had it so that only people with a blogger account could leave comments, well that has been changed so anyone can leave a comment now. Not that anyone really reads these things anyway (except Steve and Paul sometimes).

So Sanctuary had great atmosphere tonight... two thumbs up. It reminded me of good ole Awakening Days... *sigh* The whole mirror thing really connected with me... those of you who were there know what I'm talking about.

Anyway, I hope all you guys have a great Easter. Apparently if you are in Spain this picture here is what Easter looks like. If you don't believe me click here. I didn't know the KKK existed in Spain... No wonder Christians are called hypocrites all the time...

Oh, by the way, he broke a rod, that's why it's not working, that's what I heard anyway, that he broke a rod, so it won't move cause the rod is broken.

Krakatoa

So I just wrote my only term paper for the semester. It was on the eruption of Krakatoa, the largest volcanic eruption in modern history...

Now the only thing separating me from my diploma is one more test and.... The SJSU administration. Please God let them let me through.... I hate the SJSU administration. They are probably going to say I need to take some crazy class and say it didn't transfer or somehow the system rejects my application.... Who knows, its SJSU.

So those of you who have heard Dane Cook, you might appreciate this one. I was writing my paper, I heard it so I went out. I was writing my paper, heard the car hit something, heard the sirens and I came out.... I found my shoes, put them on and then came out. I heard it so I came out. Yeah, that was me over there, I was writing my paper, I heard it, so I came out....

What really happened is that some car hit a pole or something, was so close to home she decided to drive it down the street, the car was smoking so she called the fire department and they came to the rescue. That is my version anyway.

Quick quote

I was invited out to Google by my dear friend Paul "google promoter" Coutts the other day to hear Dr. James Watson give a speech. Dr. James Watson is famous for discovering the 3-D structure of DNA with his partner Francis Crick back in 1953 (yes I am a biology major and a nerd). He talked about autism and how it is the disease of the intelligent. For some reason that they haven't figured out yet is that two analytically thinking (Male Minded) individuals have a greater risk of having an autistic child. Quite strange.

Anyway, here is a quote I pulled away from his talk which was kinda fun:

"Never be the brightest person in the room..... because then you can't ask for anyone's help."

Catalyst

So I've been reading this Groupzine put out by Catalyst, and it has been very challenging. A Groupzine is not a magazine and not a book but kinda a combination of the two but meant for group study..... I don't know how else to describe it. Anyway, it is all about leadership and the first section is all about being "Authentic in Influence." Some great quotes (among the many), "Your ability to lead will never far exceed your ability to follow," and "You have achieved excellence as a leader when people will follow you everywhere if only out of curiosity." That second one is from Colin Powell. It goes on to talk about leadership in the church being in its purest form. "Leaders only have their influence to aid them." No position of authority, no leverage, only influence. So many good ideas and thoughts. If you want to check it out go to http://www.catalystgroupzine.com/ and check it out. Lots to think about.... more to come soon.

Rain

So I like rain, but I just looked at the weather forecast for the next ten days... It is supposed to rain every day for the next ten days.... I don't know about this.... I'm not paying for this kind of weather!

Tired

Time changes suck. I am tired... Does anything else need to be said? I think I've said enough.
